BRIAN POLLARD is currently head band director at Churchill High School.
Mr. Pollard received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of North Texas in 1992 and completed
his Master of Music Education at Texas A&M University - Commerce in 1999. In 1990, Mr. Pollard served as Drum Major
for the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, based in Concord, California. Before beginning work in the fall of 2000 at
Tannahill Intermediate School, he taught for eight years in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD at Trinity High School where
his groups consistently achieved superior ratings and high praise for excellent performances.
The Trinity colorguard, under Mr. Pollard's immediate supervision, nearly tripled enrollment and established a reputation for
excellent performances during his tenure. Mr. Pollard was selected by a top-ten graduating senior at Trinity
High School in both 1998 and 1999 as their "most influential teacher," as well as being selected for the same honor in 2004
at Fossil Ridge High School.
Mr. Pollard became a managing member of B&B Design Concepts, LLC, a corporation dedicated to providing avenues for
producing entertaining, competitive marching band drill that will help band directors and students achieve the goals set before them.
He regularly judges, clinics and consults with numerous high school bands in the Southwest.
As director at Fossil Ridge High School, Mr. Pollard has continued the tradition of excellence established since the school opened in 1995.
The Fossil Ridge bands have consistently placed at the top levels in marching and concert competition appearing in the 5A state marching
championships in 2002. The Fossil Ridge Wind Symphony, under Mr. Pollard's direction, was invited to be the clinic group for Mr. James
Jordan at his presentation of "The Musician's Soul" at the College Band Directors National Association (CBNDA) Southwestern
Division Biennial Convention. His drills have been a successful part of many outstanding band programs in the state of Texas.
He has had the privilege of working under Mr. Wayne Downey, Mr. Dennis Fisher, Mr. David Gibbs, Mr. Joe Gunn, Mr. Wayne Maxwell,
Mr. Mike Moxley, Mr. Bobby Francis and Mr. Tom Neugent over the course of his college and professional careers. Mr. Pollard
was elected by his peers to serve on the University Interscholatic League's Music Advisory Committee in both 2004 and 2005.
Mr. Pollard is an active member in the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.
